Along with the month of July, the first session of the admission process for university studies, for the year 2022-2023, at the West University of Timișoara (UVT) also ended successfully.

With more than 6000 candidates and more than 3400 state-financed and fee-funded places filled at the bachelor's degree cycle, UVT has demonstrated that it remains one of the main options for young people to continue their studies.

This year's admission process at the Western University of Timișoara also marked a first in the Romanian academic environment in recent years: for all university degree programs organized by UVT, the admission competition required the submission and passing of an admission test. Whether it was tests of artistic or sports skills, in the case of vocational study programs, field-specific written tests (as in the case of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science) or a test of language and reasoning skills, all candidates who have opted for the Western University of Timișoara went through a rigorous selection process, the application of which allowed the candidates to be separated in a hierarchy of test results, after which several hundred candidates failed to obtain the minimum conditions necessary for to enter the rankings of admission processes.

The most sought-after university study programs of the Western University of Timișoara by candidates in this admission session, with significant competition, were Computer Science, Psychology, Physiotherapy and special motor skills, Digital Media, Law, Economic Informatics, Education Pedagogy primary and preschool, Biology, Modern Applied Languages ​​and Design.

At UVT, the emphasis has always been on the quality of its students, so we are happy to complete the university community of UVT with the best high school graduates, with those who had the courage to go through a real admissions competition, taking exam tests, but also with numerous young people who, during their high school years, have obtained important distinctions at Olympiads and national and international competitions, benefiting from a personalized package of facilities through which their merits are recognized (tax exemptions, scholarships, involvement in research activities or extracurricular activities, etc.).

Also, UVT has always supported the principle of equity and ensuring access to university studies for candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds, so this year too, special places were offered in the admission process for candidates graduating from high schools in rural areas, candidates of Roma ethnicity, candidates from placement centers and, for the first time, for candidates with disabilities or special educational requirements.

In order to support candidates in choosing the right university study program that suits them best, also this year UVT, through the Career Counseling and Orientation Center (CCOC), offered free counseling services through webinars , the psychovocational testing platform YTM and individual counseling sessions, both during the school year and during the admission process.

Moreover, in order to get closer to the candidates, during July 2022 the UVT representatives were present for 11 days in admission centers in 9 counties: Alba, Arad, Bihor, Caraș-Severin, Hunedoara, Mehedinți, Gorj, Satu Mare and Vâlcea.

Thus, UVT strengthens its position as a leader in the field of higher education in the Western region of Romania, the large number of young people interested in discovering their best version within the UVT community confirming this fact.

Starting in mid-August, UVT's online admission platform will be open for the second session of the admission process for the academic year 2022-2023, and candidates will be able to apply for those study programs where there are still places available.
