The Western University of Timișoara, the most important comprehensive university in western Romania, opened on September 7 the autumn session of the online admission process, integrating in a single web address all the necessary data for information, registration, classification of candidates and confirmation of places, for all study programs of the 11 component faculties.
On the platform admission.uvt.ro the full list of state-funded and fee-paying places is available for all bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs offered this admission session.
In addition, UVT offers in this admission session and 11 new master's degree programs, approved by the decision adopted by the Government of Romania in its most recent meeting (August 31, 2020), of which 5 didactic master's degree programs (dedicated exclusively to the training of pre-university teachers, in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Physical Education and Sports, Physics and Geography). The other master's degree programs recently accredited by UVT are:
– in the field of university master's studies visual arts, professional master's degree programs:
- Interior and product design;
- Heritage, restoration and curation in the visual arts;
- Sculpture and ceramics;
– in the field of university studies for a master's degree in Law
- Fiscal law (part-time education);
– in the field of geography master's studies
- Geographic Information Systems (research master's degree program, in English);
– in the field of Master's studies in Management
- Global Entrepreneurship, Economics and Management (research master's degree program, in English).
The rector of the Western University of Timișoara, prof. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, emphasizes the format, appropriate to the period, in which this new admission session at UVT is taking place: "Following the first admissions session we held in July 2020 in the new online format, when over 4500 new students confirmed their enrolment, we are now announcing the new grid of places available for the autumn admissions process, as well as the launch of six new specialist master's degree programs (two of which are in English, research, and one part-time education), and didactic master's degree programs covering five main fields of study. We are mobilized during this period, with the organization of the new admission session, we analyze all local developments and general restrictions related to epidemiological conditions and prepare the appropriate framework for the start of the academic year. The teachers and researchers of the academic community of UVT, as well as the students, want the resumption of face-to-face activities, in the most favorable format for university education. We hope that the epidemiological evolution will allow us to resume classic activities at courses, seminars and laboratories, respecting all anti-coronavirus precautions. Specific decisions regarding the implementation of the program of the first period of the new academic year will be adopted by the UVT Senate during this month."
UVT is the first university in the country to integrate all stages of online admission through web tools, on the platform https://admitere.uvt.ro/. The university application dedicated to admission to UVT is the most complex application for information and online university registration, with detailed information about the university, student life and each individual study program. The UVT offer is attractive for a particularly comprehensive set of options, integrating 11 faculties, offering 75 bachelor's degree programs and more than 90 master's degree programs from 34 different areas of university study, as well as doctoral studies in 22 fields, along with the new didactic master's program, organized in the five different fields of undergraduate studies.
