"AiRobo", UVT teaching staff training project in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence

"AiRobo: Artificial Intelligence based Robotics", European project Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships for University Education will be officially launched on Monday, December 18, 2023, at UVT.

The opening conference will be attended by UVT, the rector of the West University of Timișoara, prof. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, and the project manager, associate professor dr. Isabela Drămnesc (Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of UVT), together with teaching staff, students, researchers and guests.

Within the project, a collaborative network will be created between UVT and the University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Greece), the Eszterhazy Karoly Catholic University (Eger, Hungary), the RWTH University (Aachen, Germany), the Lorraine University (Metz, France).

The AiRobo project is an innovative project, focused on both research and teacher training in the fields of: robotics, artificial intelligence and formal verification. Within the project, a comprehensive set of didactic support materials will be developed: the AiRobo book, seven robotic applications in different fields (three of them are addressed to people with disabilities and migrants), tools and video tutorials; as well as scientific publications at international conferences. These materials will be used as support in the process of teaching courses at partner universities and even in other universities around the world.

The subject covered by the project is innovative because robotics and artificial intelligence are fast growing fields with strong development expected in the future in various fields. Artificial intelligence-based robotics has the potential to improve education by providing students with tailored and engaging learning experiences. Robots can serve as learning assistants, providing feedback, answering questions, and guiding students through courses. They can also adapt their instruction to each student's learning style, speed and preferences, making the learning process more successful and efficient.
