Initiated and developed at the Western University of Timișoara with the launch of the UNITA - Universitas Montium European university alliance, intercomprehension is part of the current activities, in the second phase, of strengthening the UNITA European University, the focus being calibrated from now on the promotion of national Romance languages through the method of intercomprehension. Therefore, this linguistic tool remains extremely useful, the various activities (courses, workshops, language cafes) taking place monthly in the university, with also diverse addressees (non-philological or philological professors, non-philological or philological students, administrative staff, socio- economic).
Starting from the previous academic year, intercomprehension began to be developed with the help of doctoral and master's degree trainers. Thus, in the fourth semester in which intercomprehension is a mandatory subject for the master's degree in Romance Studies: Cultural and Linguistic (Latin, French, Italian, Spanish), but at the end of several internships in the country, as well as in UNITA universities , three master's students of the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology were the organizers of the monthly cafe dedicated to intercomprehension at the West University of Timișoara: Eliza Bătrân, Rebecca Pascu, Simona Rancea. Under the coordination of the university lecturer Dr. Mirela Boncea, the owner of the intercomprehension course, they initiated the non-philology students with learning the techniques by which they can understand the speaker of another Romance language, but, equally, with the development of the ability to express themselves in in such a way as to facilitate understanding by the other.
