Through the Decision taken within the Vaccination Center of the Timiș County Committee for Emergency Situations, the operation of a new Vaccination Center was initiated, located in the Student Dormitory C12 of the Timișoara student campus, belonging to the West University of Timișoara.

This new center will operate from November 1, 2021 and is open following the request of UVT representatives, with students already able to schedule vaccinations. The new vaccination center is located on the ground floor of C12 Residence, on Student Avenue no. 12, in a well-known central space, where there was previously a bank agency.

The establishment of the new Vaccination Center against Covid-19 was approved by DSP Timiș and the Timiș Vaccination Nucleus at the request of UVT, where doses of Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca or Johnson & Johnson vaccine are administered. This Vaccination Center is intended for students, university staff, and their relatives, and vaccination will be carried out with mobile teams provided by the authorities. Registration of vaccination appointment requests is done by filling in an online form, made available by the UVT, available HERE. Vaccination of those registered will take place every Monday, between 16:00 and 20:00. All persons who have registered by completing the online form in the previous week, up to and including Sunday, can be vaccinated.

The rector of UVT, university professor Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "UVT is at the forefront of Romanian universities also in terms of promoting the pro-vaccination message, which we launched as early as February 2021, through the "We return to normality, we vaccinate!" campaign. The share of vaccinated students is still below the share required for collective immunization, even if it is higher than the general average, which motivated us to want to open this vaccination center on the student campus. Vaccination is the sure way to protect us."
