ExTraLit Student Circle – Expériences de Traduction Littéraire

The ExTraLit student circle - Expériences de traduction littéraire - wants to support students by offering translation activities complementary to the practical and theoretical subjects provided in the education plans. The main research topic consists in the translation from Romanian into French or vice versa, from French into Romanian, of fragments extracted from the works of authors such as: Octavian Paler, Bernard Friot and others.

The advantages of these meetings and discussions are numerous, but here we mention only a few of them. First of all, by forming several teams, students are put in a position to collaborate with colleagues from the same year of study or even with colleagues from other years, which allows a transmission of information and knowledge collegially. Secondly, by going through the different stages of the translation process (reading the source text, the actual translation, revising the text) they are put in a position to reflect on their own work, thus achieving a happy fusion between theory and practice . Thirdly, the translation activity carried out within the circle allows students to put into practice the translation-translation aspects studied in the specialized courses. The meetings of the student scientific circle are bimonthly, depending on the availability of the students and the didactic or evaluation activity. The last meeting this year took place online on December 16, 2020, at 19:30 p.m.

The current activity of the circle is managed by the lect. university Dr. Adina Tihu, and the participating students are: Iulia Bandac, Bianca Buriman, Ioana Cheroiu-Cozma, Gabriela Drăguşin, Alexandru Lazea, Iasmina Lință, Patricia Mîrnea, Cornelia-Loredana Mohora, Maria Neamţu, Iulia Pricop, Magdalena Saviţchi, Andreea Zamfir.
