Short prose contest: "When and how I felt that thing for Romania"

Talking about Romania is somehow difficult. Because of demagoguery, misunderstood patriotism, fallen into nationalism and xenophobia. And yet, there must still be something beyond the words that have been stripped of their meaning. Let it be a state, a moment when the distance hurt you or when you felt proud to come from this story, not necessarily red-yellow-blue, but crimson, like a wave of blood a little warmer, a little more fast?

We want to invite you to tell us about it, now, around our national day. Write us a few lines about a moment when a Romanian / Romania hurt, well (can it be a definition of the word "longing"?), or mattered. We propose a way to tell other than through the gestures you are already tired of when your soul moved. When you felt "that thing" towards something from Romania. You can be a student of UVT or anywhere, a student or a grandfather, a bus driver or a chemist, here in these fronts, or far away.

Send a text of up to 2000 characters (including spaces) to the email address 1.decembrie@e-uvt.ro, until December 10, inclusive, and we will choose three texts each (students, students, general categories) that we will award symbolically. It can be a good start for you. Or a recognition. And, for us, a way to prove that we can clean, through words, notions that, deep down, are still clean. Good luck writing!
