The Faculty of Arts and Design and the Regional Center for Research and Expertise in Restoration and Conservation of the Faculty of Arts and Design (CR-CERC) support the National Contest "Cultural, historical and natural heritage - Dowry of local communities" - an effort to document the heritage of communities local through the research carried out by their members themselves, in the period March-June 2021. The initiator of the competition is the Romanian Society of Historical Sciences, a professional organization in the field of the production and transmission of historical knowledge, which groups in its ranks teachers, researchers, archivists, museographers , students and other history lovers.
The Faculty of Arts and Design and CR-CERC through the specific activities of the Bachelor's degree programs Conservation-Restoration and Master's degree in Heritage, restoration and curation in the visual arts is concerned with the preservation, protection and promotion of local and national heritage.
Among the cultural objectives that were researched by the students and master's students of the Faculty of Arts and Design are: the ensembles of mural and sculptural art from the heritage of the University of the West in Timișoara, the Palaces in Arad, the archaeological site in the town of Păușa-Călimănești - the Roman Fort from Arutela, Anina Station – The first railway line in Romania (Anina – Oravița), the Timișoara Water Plant, the artistic components from the Ormos Palace, the current Library of the Romanian Academy, Timișoara Branch. Also, the following religious edifices in Timișoara were part of the investigation documentation of the involved team: St. Catherine's Church, Gerhardinum Piarist Theological High School Church, Fabric Synagogue, the wooden Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, the Roman Catholic Cathedral "St. . Gheorghe".
