Between May 12-14, 2022, the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, through the English Language and Literature group, organizes the XXI edition of the international conference "British and American Studies", online.
One of the longest-running conferences organized at the Western University of Timisoara, the event brings together over 120 specialists from countries such as Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Hungary, Lithuania, Tunisia, Japan, who present their works in sections of British and American literature and culture, linguistics, translation studies and translation studies, didactics of English language teaching.
As every year, this year too, the conference proposes a number of plenary speakers, recognized personalities in the research and professional areas they represent: Prof. Andreas Jucker (University of Zürich), Prof. Nicoleta Vasta (University of Udine) , Prof. Laurence Roussillon-Constanty (Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour), Dr. Martin Will (President of the Advanced International Translation Network). For the first time, there will be a panel debate on two recently published books, which enjoyed an enthusiastic reception from the public: Pia Brînzeu - "Shakespeare's Ghosts" and George Volceanov - "The Return to the Great Will or Reconsideration of the Shakespearean canon".
