The volleyball team of the West University of Timișoara, representing Romania at the European University Championship played in Portugal, in Braga, won the final of the championship yesterday evening, together with the team of the University of Rostok (Germany).
The UVT team won the final match of the championship 3-0, in sets 25-22, 25-21, 25-21. It was a balanced game, in which the Timisoara team mobilized to prevail, the beautiful victory confirming the value of the game. The first two acts had multiple advantages on both sides, but the final sets belonged to the UVT team. In the third set, the morale and confidence of the winners weighed more and more to "close" the match. In this interval of the match, the West University of Timișoara did not relinquish the initiative and emerged European university champion in a sensational manner.
The academic community of UVT sends congratulations to the boys who created a remarkable sports history page yesterday and to the team coaches: Darius Cătălin Câmpean (15 points), Sergiu Octavian Rodina (7p) (points), Sergiu Florin Călin (1p), Lucian Pavel Bădiceanu, Ioan Dorin Moraru, Emanuel Cristian Drăgan (6p), Alexandru Moroșan, Sebastian Ovidiu Micu (13p), Leonard Giorgian Gologăneanu, Rareș-Andrei Preda , Marius Iustin Agachi, Robert Claudiu Vîrlan (17p).
