"Education today, in Timisoara of European culture"

The West University of Timișoara, through the Department for Teaching Staff Training, organized the seventh edition of the "Education today, in Timișoara European culture" Conference, financed by the Timiș County Council through the TIM CULTURE 2021 Program. The conference took place online, Friday, November 26, 2021. During the conference, approximately 450 pupils, students and teachers from Timiș County and neighboring counties participated.

The conference brought together theorists, practitioners and students in the field of teacher training in a common space, in order to identify solutions for improving, consolidating and implementing good practices in teacher training. At the opening of the conference, the Vice-Rector of the West University of Timișoara spoke, Prof. Univ. Dr. Mădălin Bunoiu, General School Inspector of IȘJ Timiș, Prof. Marin Popescu, Director of DPPD-UVT, Conf. Univ. Dr. Habil. Marian D. Ilie and the Vice President of OSUT, student Roxana Matei.

UVT Rector, Prof. Univ. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: „The program of presentation and evaluation of good teaching practices, developed during the conference "Education today, in Timisoara of European culture", will support, once more, the orientation of the UVT community towards practical didactic tools, oriented towards students' needs. We will continue to emphasize this practical side of teaching activities, through as many specializations and related programs as possible."

In the plenary of the conference, communications were presented on the topic of online teaching, with an emphasis on lesson design. The work of the conference continued with five thematic workshops. In four of these, filmed sequences from the activities carried out by the participants with the students, as well as lesson projects, were presented, analyzed and discussed. Thus, examples of good practices and suggestions for effective educational activity were highlighted. About 350 students and teachers from university and pre-university education participated in these workshops. In the fifth workshop, they had their Eco-Vital Gala, a gala attended by approximately 100 pupils, students and teachers. The gala was the occasion for the awarding of several students, for innovative activities of a non-formal nature carried out both online and face-to-face, within the Eco-Vital activities, between October 22 and 30, 2021.

The awarded projects are:

·      Value attitudes in a changing world : Rebeca Denisa Dan - first prize, Ioana Rebeca Pascu - second prize, Flavia Costina Căprariu - third prize, Alina Melnic - Mention, Ana Maria Preducă - Mention, Isabela Vesa - Mention;

·      Quality of life through my contribution: Sara Kaycsa – first prize, Maria Rarinca – second prize, David Peiov – third prize, Herman Robert Tomoniu – Mention, Timea Waltner Tautzenberger – Mention, Alessandra Maria David – Mention;

·      Beautiful and good, useful and pleasant – values ​​and principles of life: Andreea Briana Toma – first prize, Adme Strumberger – second prize, Fabian Popescu – third prize, Andreea Alexandra Drașoveanu – Mention, Gabriela Vancea – Mention, Ada Spătaru – Mention;

·      And the photos tell a story that we can learn from: Elias-Cadmiel Neagoe – first prize, Denisa-Gabriela Resa – second prize, Ștefania Cirtea – third prize, Brianna Orobeți – Mention, Luca Vicol-Caragea – Mention, Mircea Șerbănescu – Mention;

·      The song of nature: Elena-Raisa Boldeanu – first prize, Maya-Ecaterina Giotea – second prize, Delia-Maria Stana – third prize, Thomas Edgar Braun – Mention, Luca Lazăr – Mention, Maria-Ioana Șeptebani – Mention. 

In the last part of the conference, the prize gala of the didactic activities proposed in the best practices exchange competition took place. The nine best examples of good classroom practice were awarded. Project and activity proposals were previously evaluated and classified by specialists of the Education Research Unit of the National Center for Education Policies and Evaluation within the Ministry of Education and Research. During the gala, the prizes were announced by Principal Researcher I Dr. Ciprian Fartușnic, as a representative of the evaluation committee. The winners of this year's "Education Today" competition are:

· Daniel-Alex Milencovici, Secondary School No. 2 from Timișoara, Second Prize

· Florica Prisacariu, Peciu Nou Theoretical High School, III Prize

· Mihaela Costache, Câmpuri Secondary School, Mentione

· Adriana Iuliana Bălaj, Secondary School No. 1 from Timișoara, Mention

· Lucia Iulia Chirculescu, Secondary School No. 16, "Take Ionescu" from Timișoara, Mention

· Adina-Ilioara Cherecheș, "William Shakespeare" Theoretical High School in Timișoara, Mention
