Eric Maskin, laureate of the Nobel Prize for Economics, invited and honored at UVT

The Western University of Timișoara is pleased to invite you to an exceptional event, dedicated to the economy. We are very pleased to announce that the distinguished Professor Eric Stark Maskin, winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Economics, will join us for two meetings to share knowledge and insights in his area of ​​expertise.

The first of the meetings will take place on Thursday, July 6, starting at 18 p.m., in the Aula Magna of UVT, when the economist Eric Maskin will hold the conference entitled "Financial crises: why they happen and what to do about them?", moderated by the editor -head of the Forbes Romania publication, Ionuț Bonoiu, an important voice of the media in the field of financial and economic analysis, publicist with visibility of the Romanian public environment.

On July 7, Friday, starting at 9 a.m., also in the Aula Magna, the UVT academic community will award the title of Doctor Honoris Causa UVT to the renowned American economist, in a special celebration.

Eric Stark Maskin is an American economist, laureate of the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2007 for works related to the theory of mechanism design. Maskin shared the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences with two other American economists – Leonid Hurwicz and Roger Myerson. He is a professor of economics at Harvard University.
