Data visualization exhibition, ConnecTM, ​​launches at UVT

FabLab – Social Fabrics Research Lab and Faculty of Political Science, Philosophy and Communication Sciences launches the first edition of the exhibition "ConnecTM - Research Visualization Exhibition at UVT", on Monday, May 30, from 18:00, in the central hall of the University of Timișoara, Bd. Vasile Pârvan 4. The exhibition is public, with free access, and will be on display between May 30 and June 19.

The aim of the project is to promote in the community the learning outcomes of students in Network Science, Data Science and Public Communication for Community-Building.

The exhibition highlights the best projects developed by students from the Digital Media, Communication and Public Relations and Advertising specializations, years I and III, within the framework of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication Sciences, but also from other specializations within UVT.

The projects contain statistical analyzes from original data and through the reuse of public databases, as well as online communication campaigns, in partnership with local, national and international organizations, or on their own, on various topics: analysis of civil society and the potential for collaboration and innovation, analysis of books, TV series or video games, analysis of Twitter communication or public spending, as well as public mobilization to donate blood or participation in professional events dedicated to scientific communities and practitioners.

ConnecTM includes the launch of a digital platform to explore projects and student profiles, a showcase catalog for employers and the physical exhibition with data visualization boards from the best projects.  

The projects are coordinated by Lect. university Dr. Silvia Fierescu, within the courses Introduction to Network Science, Digital Data Analysis and Online Advertising, with the help of the student Ianis Rusitoru and of the organizational partners involved as beneficiaries: Timisoara Community Foundation, Smart City Strategy and Digital Transformation of Timisoara, Fagaras Research Institute, Blood Transfusion Center Timișoara, ZenLand Massage Therapy, Maven7 Network Research Inc. and Women in Data Science Central and Eastern Europe, in the academic year 2021-2022.
