FERM2 – STRENGTH, ESSENCE, REFINEMENT, FASHION

FERM2 – an exhibition event, hosted by the gallery EmArt Gallery from Deva between September 1 and October 1, 2021, signed by the two artists from Timisoara Eugenia Riemschneider and Corina Nani, who combine traditional techniques (magic pattern) with new technologies (digital art). An artistic approach, exploring the meanings of the shape (the female body), the textile material, the texture and the color of the support, which includes a sequence of routes built around the preoccupation with the female body.

With these works unfolding before us, like well-thought-out and structured scenarios, we are greeted with a compelling interweaving of the female body and colors, and the human body becomes a precious artistic substance of the works. The human body in different poses actually emphasizes the temporal dimension, captures a story so that time stands still. It suggests passing and ephemerality, transition and fragility... Perhaps many of you see the human body as a form, as an empty body or as a geometry that interacts with the poetic landscape... Thus the human body becomes an inner dialogue between the philosophical game and the game in reality under the effect of light... the spontaneity, the innocence, the wonder of what happens around her, around the objects and her own memory, emerges. We are also witnesses of an artistic vision, which approaches the philosophy given by the contrast of light - shadow, color, being visible to the work. The artists Eugenia Riemschneider and Corina Nani use this game, precisely to emphasize the inner order against the outer chaos. In a way, it invites you to a unique experience. External impressions are indispensable to trigger the captivating exercise of observation, representation, analysis, interpretation. Thus the sense of touch mediates messages of invitation or repulsion, of approach or distance, of pleasure or rejection.

About the exhibiting artists:

Artist Eugenia Riemschneider starting from the images provided by the French photographer Jean-Christian Tirat, present in the INTERFOTO 2019 exhibition, located on the Attic Gallery of the Faculty of Arts and Design, part of the "Development of Visual Artistic Culture" project, with the managers of Prof. Univ. . Dr. Habil Camil Mihăescu and associate professor Dr. Diana Andreescu, some details were extracted focusing on digitally printed textile surfaces.
The photos taken following the demonstrations in Toulouse of the "yellow vests" who vandalized the banal automatic cash machines, Tirat's lens captured a series of close-ups in pale or Fauvist colors representing the consequences of the anger, of the vandalism. This is where the idea started to turn these images into unique clothing while preserving their beauty. Based on the visual support of the photos brought together under the general title "An aesthetic of vandalism?", taken by the photographer Jean Christian Tirat of French origin, he creatively transposed the two-dimensional into the three-dimensional. He sought to experiment under an ultimate expressiveness. Without developing a strict, repetitive method, he integrates the origami technique into various forgotten and re-composed forms. From a technical point of view, the artist aimed for a certain correctness validated by her own experience and the already established method, having as a starting point the origami technique, that story of the transformation of flat material into volume, which is at the interference between experiment and wearable.

Artist Corina Nani is attracted and involved in an eternal dialogue with the human body, the designer doubled by the plastic artist, begins to transmit a series of messages that have the particularity of being simultaneous and yet having a different rhythm; from decorations, lights and shadows, colors and gestures. The female body becomes a raw material being all the time available and processed by the syndromes of the modern man impregnated with words, images, senses, desires and power. The artist wants to highlight through this series of works, the resumption of the motif of the meaning of creation and perception, but especially the contemplation of the female body in its absolute nudity, anatomical nudity and spiritual nudity. It constitutes one of the most important moments of any initiatory, mysterious, erotic ceremony. The female body has no name, no meaning, but at the same time it exists. It is simply located…

The two artists are dedicated to exploring the female body - the most exploited element in the history of culture - as a support of sensuality, a passive and active mediator of living, a source of inspiration in artistic creations and an object of ambient decoration. Right in the title of the exhibition, we find the idea of the human body, which together with its metaphorical attributions of evolution, plays a leading role in our identity. Regardless of the investment in its essence, exploration is one of the predominant themes in art and design. His image is nothing but a symbolization centered on the search for individual identity on the one hand, and on the other hand the artistic dialogue is intimate and imaginative where the narrative thread of the works aims at several cycles of construction-deconstruction, addition-extraction of elements of the plastic discourse .

Two artists, two female bodies with textures and colors, thousands of connections between the works... I leave this visual discourse open, playful of the multitude of symbolic elements, which calmly and casually reproduces optimism and hope...
