Gabriel Liiceanu is one of the most important public intellectuals in Romania and has become noted as an interpreter of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. He is also the director of the Humanitas Publishing House since 1990 and has participated in the main public debates in the Romanian cultural and political space.
