The community of the West University of Timișoara is constantly concerned with the expansion of scientific and professional development projects, with the recognition of the merits and performances of the members, who, through their work, contribute essentially to the increase of its academic prestige and the achievement of the UVT mission.
In this spirit, we have established a beautiful tradition, also encouraged by the public partnerships offered by prestigious companies and institutions from the economic and administrative environment of the region, a tradition that aims to reward excellence.
Thus, within a new annual event dedicated to sciences, arts and sports, held in the Aula Magna "Ioan Curea" of UVT, the seventh edition of the UVT Awards Gala took place, during which members of the academic community and the Timisoara community were awarded for their work.
The current pandemic context forced us to adapt this edition and to organize an event presented live, transmitted LIVE on the page of UVT's Facebook. We have captured some of the most important moments of the Gala in pictures, the whole event can be found and in video format.
We should thank the institutional partners, with whom it was possible to organize this edition of the Gala under good conditions. We thank: FLEX, ATOS, Unicredit Bank, Hamilton Central Europe, Nokia Romania, HELLA, TECH MAHINDRA, MARSH and the Timiș County Council as an institutional partner.
The awards given reflect the special results obtained by the members of the UVT academic community in the field of sciences, arts and sports, as well as the services brought to the university by other persons or institutions. During the gala, ten prizes named after personalities who marked the history of the university, contributing to the development of academic culture in the western part of the country, were awarded, including six prizes for different fields of science, arts and sports, two prizes for the contribution to the implementation of the policies of the West University of Timișoara and two awards for the contribution to increasing the prestige of UVT in the national and international plan.

- "Aurel Breilean" Award for Arts and Sports: Univ. Conf. Dr. Valentina Ștefănescu

As every year, the gala atmosphere was maintained by the musical moments offered by the teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Music and Theater of UVT, moments that consisted of interpretations of Franz Schubert ("Trio for violin, viola and cello in E flat major, D. 471" supported by Inga Godea - violin, Maria Ghiga - viola, Andreea Petrila - cello, the class of Prof. Dr. Cristian Andriș), Paul Abraham ("How good is the evening to wander in two" from the operetta " Ball at the Savoy", performed by Denisa Bădăi - canto master II and Denis Matei - canto master I, "Toujours l'amour" from the same operetta, performed by Clarisa Gherghe - canto III year and Iosia Balteș - canto master I), Paul J SMITH and Leigh Harline ("Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs - I'm wishing-One song, supported by Korina Trocea and Teodor Caus), as well as Elton John ("The Lion King - Can you feel the love tonight", supported by Anastasia Dragoi and Teodor Caus).
By awarding the awards, in this Gala show, which includes, in addition to the moments of the actual awarding and special artistic moments, the academic community of UVT brings recognition to the valuable people in the community and encourages all those for whom innovation means added value, both community and and personal to persevere on their way to excellence.
