In the context of the designation of Timișoara as the European Capital of Culture 2023, the students enrolled in the second year of studies in the master's degree program "German in a European context - interdisciplinary and multicultural studies" within the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology have developed multilingual website "PerspecTim".
The site, with a structure that includes the "Calendar", "Routes", "PerspecTeam" and "Sources" sections, aims to present the city in images captured monthly, between December 2022 and May 2023, on the same three routes, traveled but differently: on foot, by tram and bus. The image of Timișoara during the six months is completed by a brief description of the atmosphere that governs the city in that month, a fragment of a literary work from the German literature of Banat and the columns "Personality of the month" and "Evenimentul lunii ". The site is available in six languages, both in the languages spoken in the Banat region (Romanian, German, Hungarian and Serbian), as well as in English and Ukrainian. By presenting Timișoara from multiple perspectives, the aim is to popularize the life of the city, in the year in which it holds the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture.
The event will take place Saturday, February 11, 2023, 11:30 AM, in the A01 amphitheater of the Western University of Timișoara (Bd. V. Pârvan no. 4). At the event moderated by university conf. dr. Karla Lupșan, vice-dean of the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology will participate: Dan Diaconu, adviser to the president of the Timiș County Council, associate professor dr. Mădălin Bunoiu, vice-rector of the West University of Timișoara, prof. Dr. Loredana Pungă, dean of the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology and representatives of the local press.
