The "Glass Eye" premiere at Cinema Victoria. Discovering a new territory in the "Secret Map"

Wednesday, June 14, from 18:30 p.m, UVT invites you to Cinema Victoria (Strada Ciprian Porumbescu 2), to the premiere of a film that couldn't be more captivating -  "The Glass Eye", for the discovery of a new territory from "Secret Map". It is a documentary about photographers from Timișoara and the first photography workshops in the city. The film literally immortalizes a history of the city from the end of the 1989th century to the present day: brave experiments, women photographers, the Revolution of XNUMX, the artistic avant-garde.

The documentary is part of the series "Timișoara. The secret map: people and places", a project in which Adriana Babeți, together with a wonderful team, explores the forgotten, unknown, but impressive histories of Timisoara and brings to the public's attention some of the special people of the place. Their findings have been translated into several documentary films.

"The glass eye" is a film full of melancholy, made by the team "Timișoara. The secret map: people and places" and by director Titus Muntean. The screening lasts 30 minutes and is followed by a discussion with the Secret Map team (Adriana Babeți, Cristi Văduva, Uțu Pascu, Țuțu and Silvia Hrin, Alex Condrache), with Titus Muntean, the director of the film, as well as with our guests: Constantin Flondor, Cristian Graure, Pusha Petrov.

Entry is free, by reservation. The reservation is valid until the start time of the event, unoccupied places being redistributed later. More information at: https://cinemavictoria-tm.ro/evenimente/harta-secreta-ochiul-de-sticla/.

About the event, the rector of the West University of Timișoara, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, said: "The history of the city, brought up to date through this film, becomes a living archive of our community. We thank the university professor and writer Adriana Babeți, as well as the other colleagues from the production team, for the sequences they recovered and turned into a referential story for the Timisoara citadel."

"Timisoara. The secret map: people and places" is a joint project of the House of Culture of the Municipality of Timișoara and the West University of Timișoara, being financed by the City Hall of the Municipality of Timișoara through the House of Culture of the Municipality of Timișoara. The project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is financed by the program Inside Timișoara 2023, run by the Project Center of the Municipality of Timișoara, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
