Andrei Chifu, currently a PhD student at the Faculty of Music and Theater of UVT and an actor at the National Theater in Timișoara, won the Debut Award at the 2020 Uniter Awards Gala.
Andrei is a graduate of the master's courses also at the UVT, being one of the actors who honed his talent in the Timișoara profile faculty, where he also graduated from the bachelor's program.
The Debut Award was awarded to the actor Andrei Chifu by the jury of the UNITER Awards 2020 for the role of "El" in the show "The House on the Border" by Sławomir Mrožek, directed by Ada Lupu Hausvater at the "Mihai Eminescu" National Theater in Timisoara, a performance by dissertation of the graduates of the specialized master's program in theatrical art at the Faculty of Music and Theater from UVT.
During the UNITER 2020 Awards Gala event, held in Craiova, the Timișoara national actor represented the Timișoara theatrical and performing arts community in front of an interested and enthusiastic audience, marking a well-deserved success of the artistic school in Timișoara, which promotes and supports young talents. During the UNITER 2020 Awards Gala, another Timișoara resident won the jury prize, the Timișoara director Eugen Jebeleanu, now settled in Bucharest, taking the directing award for the show "Itinerarii. One day the world will change", staged at ARCUB - Cultural Center of the Municipality of Bucharest and Compagnie des Ogres. The rector of UVT, university professor dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, declares about the award with which the young actor Andrei Chifu was rewarded: "The university community from UVT, the colleagues and teachers of Andrei Chifu, the Timișoara spectators who have seen his roles, are today impressed and very happy for the success of UVT PhD student Andrei Chifu, actor of the Timișoara stage. It is a new confirmation, beautiful and special, for the very good level at which performing arts in Timișoara rise today and for the meritorious evolution of our theater school. Congratulations and much success in the future, Andrei Chifu!".
