The Community of the Western University of Timișoara (UVT) returned to organizing this year UVT Awards Gala in the space of the National Theater "Mihai Eminescu", at the eighth edition. Along with the concerns for the development of research and educational projects, UVT proposes, within the annual event of the UVT Awards Gala, the recognition of the merits and performances of its members, who, through their recent developments, have substantially contributed to the increase of the national and international prestige through which UVT noted.
This new annual event dedicated to the sciences, arts and sports, benefited from the contribution of some outstanding institutional partners, to whom we send our thanks, with whom it was possible to organize this celebration of the academic environment in our community. We thank: CTP Romania, OMV Petrom, BCR, ATOS, FLEX, Hamilton, Unicredit Bank, Nokia Romania, Marsh, Rompetrol, Iulius Town, Timiș County Council and the Ministry of Education.
Also, the event received an extra artistic glow through the performances of the talented students of the Faculty of Music and Theatre, who supported three musical moments, joining Tangolita's Aria, from the operetta "Bal la Savoy" (composer Paul Abraham), performed by Ana - Maria Ștefea, Suite Românească (composer Tiberiu Brediceanu) and Raga Sept 'Single' (composer Derek Charke), performed by the Romanian Flute Ensemble – Lupaș Iulia-Rebeca, Bebeșelea Tabea-Marianne, Onișor Romina, Preda Bogdan-Octavian, and the Daisy Duet – Mustafa, from the operetta "Bal la Savoy" (composer Paul Abraham), performed by Boldan Maria and Matei Denis-Gabriel.
The awards given reflect the special results obtained by the members of the UVT academic community in the field of sciences, arts and sports, as well as the services brought to the university by other persons or institutions. During the gala, ten prizes were awarded, of which six prizes for different fields of science, arts and sports, as well as four special prizes, for the contribution to the implementation of the policies of the University of the West and for the contribution to the increase of the prestige of the UVT on a national and international level.
UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "The true "measure" of a man's life can only be obtained through the "lack of measure", wanting "without measure", daring "without measure", loving "without measure", said Octavian Paler.
