"The first session of the 2022 baccalaureate exam indicates an increase in the positive results obtained by the candidates, which is a good signal for the prospects of the admission sessions to the Romanian university faculties, which will follow in the summer and autumn of this year. Although there have been many observations and public comments loaded with a high degree of skepticism, especially regarding the decrease in the total number of enrollments in the June 2022 session of the baccalaureate exam, here the success rate in the exam has increased by 5,5% across all promotions, being the highest in the last 10 years, according to the results published today”, underlines the university professor. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, Rector of the Western University of Timișoara.
"We return to an optimistic scenario, after these results in the baccalaureate exam, which will certainly be confirmed in the autumn session of the baccalaureate exam, when we expect a larger participation. On the results announced today, they passed 2928 more candidates than last year, although it is true that the number of candidates who sat for the exam was 7211 less than last year, resulting in a cumulative pass rate (before appeals) of 73,3%, 5,5% higher than the same stage in 2021 (when the percentage was 67,8%). The fact that in this session of the baccalaureate exam the highest pass rate in the last 10 years is recorded may amount to a clear signal of the exit from the loop of anxiety and pessimism in which we were confined in 2020 and 2021, due to the pandemic restrictions”, says the Rector of UVT.
