The creative project Reimagining the "Cardinal Points" Fountain as a biodiversity island started a month ago, based on a challenge received from Aquatim. The creative project is carried out within the UVT Digital & Green Living Lab, coordinated by Dr. Alexandra PETCU. Through the open innovation collaborative approach, 8 multidisciplinary teams made up of students from the Faculty of Arts and Design (coordinator of university lectures Dr. Sergiu ZEGREAN and associate professor Dr. Diana ANDREESCU), Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography (lect. university dr. Adrian SINITEAN) and the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology (conf. university dr. Irina MACSINGA, assistant cerc. dr. Patricia ALBULESCU) each proposed a concept of "Reimagining the fountain as an island of biodiversity" . Each concept includes design aspects, specific flora (pollution prevention, air and water cleaning, aesthetic function), respectively storytelling appropriate to the citizens' perception of the space.

The citizens of Timișoara are invited to vote for their favorite proposal by accessing a form that will be made public with the opening of the exhibition.

June 3, 2022, 14.00 p.m - The Impact of Automatic Deployment of Software on Climate Change – UVT URBAN GARDEN

The increased market demand exacerbated by the Covid19 pandemic determined the application service providers to invest in platforms that allow software to be deployed and run on the Cloud, eg Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud. Although the use of Cloud already reduces the carbon footprint compared to local servers, manual deployment of software could lead to the use of extraneous resources. To tackle this issue, automatic deployment is proposed. This is a non-trivial task due to the complexity of the software and to the various Cloud offers. We formalize it as a constrained optimization problem and use mathematical methods (computational logic, graph theory, symmetry breaking) to solve it efficiently.

June 4, 2022, 19.00 p.m - The song of nature – UVT URBAN GARDEN

The song of nature is a concert that I propose out of the desire to bring the young audience closer to classical music through nature – the inexhaustible source for inspiration in art. I propose that the event take place in the UVT Garden, with an interdisciplinary approach combining music, painting and poetry. Pupils and students interested in the event can register to present their own creation, to give life to a musical work through their own interpretation and to give color to nature through their own creativity. I believe that it is important to develop key skills for promoting the values of local, regional, national and European culture/education through instructive - educational and extracurricular practices like the proposed event. Also, in addition to art connections, students and people need to develop attitudes of good citizens and adopt a behavior of respect and care for nature and health, for cultural expression in the city/community/surroundings in which we live. Participants are stimulated to become creators of positive social attitudes, which combat indifference and negligence towards the consequences of environmental destruction through human activity.

I want this event to bring together students from general culture schools, students from vocational schools, with students who are already following the path of art and who can become models for the younger ones. This inexhaustible transfer can be achieved in nature, the place of beautiful encounters.

ï Organizer: Daniel Milencovici, UVT, Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, dom. Psychology

ï Partners: The Institute for Formation of Generations through Education, Culture and Art, National Chamber Choir Madrigal, Cantus Mundi National Program, Cărturești Bookstore Timișoara

ï Estimated event duration: 60-90 minutes

June 5 2022 - MountainBACH – concert of music by Bach – POIANA ŞERONI FROM THE TARCU MOUNTAINS

It won't be an outing on a mountain bike tour, but it will be about listening to Bach's music in a unique setting. We propose a combination of mountain hiking with musical art by presenting a concert with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach in Poiana Șeroni in the Tarcu Mountains. The joy of spending time in nature will be amplified by the pleasure of listening to Bach's music in the natural amphitheater formed in Poiana Șeroni.

Students will be picked up in front of the FMT headquarters on June 5 at 09:30. At 11:30 we will arrive in Saua Jigoriei, from where we will continue the route on foot, towards the Cuntu Meteorological Station, stopping after approx. 50 minutes in Poiana Şeroni. The concert will start at 13 p.m., presenting works for flute and solo violin, alternatively. The duration of the concert will be approximately one hour. At 14 p.m. we will continue the route to Meteo Cuntu Hut, arriving around 15 p.m. After a short break, we will return to Saua Jigoriei, from where the students will be taken back to the UVT headquarters.

Students will participate:

  • from the class conf. univ. Dr. Cristina Mălăncioiu violinists Andrea Petran, Anamaria Joldea, Damaris Prisăcariu, Luiza Prisăcariu, Debora Andronesi, Eunice Bahnaru
  • from cda class. dr. Matei Ioachimescu flutists Alexandra Mahu and Dumitru Palagniuc.

On the one hand, we hope that those students who do not have the culture of walking on the mountain will develop a healthier lifestyle, on the other hand, we hope that the audience that will participate in this event will return to the concert hall more often.

If the weather is bad, the event will be postponed.
