On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, the International Symposium took place online 3C – Communication, counseling, communion, with the theme "Family, home church". The event was organized by the Metropolis of Banat and the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology of the Western University of Timișoara and coordinated by the lect priest. Dr. Marius Ioana, associate teacher at this university education institution. More than two hundred students and teachers participated in the symposium. The guests present submitted to the attention of the participants the topic proposed for debate from the perspective of the personal field of research. Thus, the audience witnessed the very interesting exposition of the works by the invited specialists from the fields of sociology and psychology, philology, medicine, law, geography, education sciences, communication sciences and theology. Some of the points of view expressed from the perspective of these fields are summarized below.
The importance of (re)discoveries of "the really important" in a society offering, with countless ways of defining happiness, was emphasized. For a culture of communion, there is a need for philosophical counseling, counseling that addresses society as a form of value orientation and rescue from the possible inner cleavage of the person or the community of which he is a part. This assistance does not refer to the other types of counseling, therapeutic or medical, but remains a particularity specific to society that considers that the common good represents the sum of the good of each individual that makes it up.
The reflection of the family unit is also found in Romanian literature by contemporary writers, as is the case in the notes from Journal to Eugen Dorcescu.
Following the examples of the founding of families in the country and in the world, a sharp degradation of the family was observed worldwide. The cohesion of a country, as in the case of Romania, was given by family unity regardless of the dramatic historical events it went through.
The prosperity of a nation lies in the education and culture of its members. Investing in your own education is the biggest and safest investment. The school, like the family, are environments where each person can perfect himself.
Our biological life is influenced by our family life. It has been observed that married people have less need for medical institutions, and in case of illness of a family member, these people have strong emotional support and benefit from a shorter healing time.
The importance of family unity was argued in the face of social slippages that moved family values outside of it, at work, in the community, phenomena that made not only the family vulnerable, but also the person himself.
In legal terms, a case was presented from the International Court of Justice regarding the way the court supported the best interest of the child. Family members can experience heights of happiness and communion, but at the same time, if they do not want to overcome certain barriers of interpersonal communication, the family will go through difficult periods of crisis and suffering, experienced by all its members.
Communication, counseling and communion, spiritual and universal values are the guiding beacons of the person and the world in which we live.
