The Sociology Department of the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology within UVT, in partnership with the "Eugen Todoran" Central University Library, is organizing, for the sixth consecutive year, the "Socio Claus" campaign. This year's event will take place between December 18-21, under the sign "together", with the already established slogan "And you can be Socio Claus". The Socio Claus campaign promotes inclusion, solidarity, acceptance, empathy and support towards people with disabilities and their families.
In this context, there will be interactive meetings with students and alumni of the West University of Timișoara, people with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities, but also representatives of the environment business.
During the campaign, a Christmas market will be organized in the lobby of the "Eugen Todoran" Central University Library, where ornaments and objects specific to the winter holidays, made by students, children with disabilities, parents and therapists, will be sold, the funds will collect being intended to cover the costs of therapies for children with disabilities. The activities are aimed at both students and the general public, access being free.
UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "At UVT, we apply advanced methods of accessibility, but we also reach out through charity campaigns, in order to increase the quality of life of people with disabilities. Especially during the traditional December holidays, our community reaffirms its inclusive orientation, solidarity and support for those who are in one way or another more disadvantaged, who need our empathy. We are waiting for you at Socio Claus!"

The partners of this year's campaign are: the Student Organization of the Western University of Timișoara (OSUT), Good Inclusion, the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Timiș (DGASPC Timiș), the Department of Social Assistance of the Municipality of Timișoara, the Children's Day Center with disabilities "Podul Lung", "Pentru Voi" Foundation, Speranța Empowerment Foundation, Speranța Resource and Educational Assistance Center, Marisa Recovery Center, Micile Comori Association, Mother Junior School, Casa Faenza Association, Children and Fairies Association, Wings Association for Autism, Elisar Recovery and Neurological Rehabilitation Center and Adela Paliuc Psychology Office.
