Students of the specialization performing arts – Acting in German from the Faculty of Music and Theater of the University of West Timișoara start the academic year strong, by participating in the XV edition of International Theater Festival for the Young Audience Iași, which takes place during the 1- October 9, 2022 under genericConflict-Confrontation. The people of Timișoara will have a performance with Synergies. stylistic interactions, directed by Niky Wolcz (Columbia University New York, visiting teacher of the Western University of Timișoara), on October 5 from 11.00:XNUMX a.m., at the Faculty of Theatre. The cast includes Maria Gagea, Maria Gheorghiu, Flavius Ichim, Raluca Ille, Jacqueline Kohl and Dana Niculescu, while the project management was provided by prof. skilled dr. Eleonora Ringler-Pascu. It is the first time that the Faculty of Music and Theater of UVT has been invited to participate in this festival. The performance lasts an hour and a half and is performed in German, with Romanian subtitles.
Presentation work-in-progress of students from the specialization Performing Arts – Acting in German under the coordination of professor Niky Wolcz, Synergies. Stylistic interactions proposes a journey through different eras from the desire to bring to the fore the interactions between dramatic texts belonging to different historical periods. Stylistic synergies are born due to the interactions between selected text fragments: pre-postdramatic attempts by Peter Handke (Kaspar) and Heiner Müller (Hamlet machine), Baroque and Rococo examples based on Molière's plays (Truffles and Misanthrope), distancing effects of Brechtian songs, Hofmannsthal's expressionist reinterpretation of the play Electra, suggestions of constructivism, respectively of suprematism in fragments from Elizaveta Bam by Daniil Harms and Mysteria buff by Vladimir Mayakovsky. Synergies. Stylistic interactions premiered on June 2, 2022 at the German State Theater Timișoara, at the opening of the germAct Performing Arts Festival.
The Iași International Theater Festival for Young Audiences (FITPTI) reached its 2022th edition this year. For nine days young audiences of all ages can enjoy the performances offered by numerous theater groups from all over the world. Along with the theater, FITPTI XNUMX also comes with book launches, art exhibitions, workshops and debates.
