"Support for the implementation of didactic activities related to the 2020/2021 academic year at the UVT level, in the context of the risk of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection"

The West University of Timișoara, as the Beneficiary, implements the project entitled "Support for the implementation of didactic activities in preventive conditions for the academic year 2020/2021 at the UVT level, in the context of the risk of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus", MySMIS code 149725, co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund through the Competitiveness Operational Program 2014-2020, Priority Axis 2 – Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for a competitive digital economy, Investment Priority 2c. – Consolidation of ICT applications for e-government, e-learning, e-inclusion, e-culture, e-health.

General objective of the project/Aim of the project:

The general objective of the project consists in equipping with electronic equipment/devices for carrying out didactic activities in the online environment, namely the creation of a LAN network and with wireless accessibility to support didactic activities carried out online for 921 students who benefit from social grants and social grants occasional, within the Western University of Timișoara, in order to increase the degree of accessibility and connectivity in university education.

The specific objectives of the project:

1. Ensuring the educational process in good conditions for 921 students who benefit from social scholarships and occasional social scholarships, in the context of the pandemic crisis created by the spread of the SARS - COV 2 virus, by purchasing electronic equipment/devices for conducting teaching activities in the online environment , consisting of desktop computers, All-in-One computers, laptop computers, interactive whiteboards, graphics tablets, video projectors, projection screens, web cameras, video conferencing systems;

2. The purchase by the Western University of Timișoara of goods and services for the realization of the LAN network, infrastructure equipment and network software with access points for wireless facilities, in order to improve the current technological infrastructure for supporting online teaching activities in good conditions with accessibility from all UVT spaces, both didactic and student accommodation.

Expected results:

Result 1:

- settlement of expenses for goods and services for creating a LAN network - UVT network infrastructure equipment and software;

- settlement of expenses for equipment: Office computers, All-in-One computers, portable computers, monitors;

- settlement of expenses for equipment: Laptops, All-in-One computers, laptops, graphic tablets, server;

- settlement of expenses for equipment: Video projector, projection screen, web camera, interactive whiteboards, video conferencing system;

– the procedure for purchasing goods and services for creating a LAN network – infrastructure equipment and UVT network software for accessibility for wireless use;

– the procurement procedure for project promotion and advertising services;

Result 2:

– 1 implementation schedule respected (activities carried out according to planning, objectives achieved, indicators achieved);

– 1 set of specific implementation procedures elaborated and disseminated;

– progress reports and pre-financing/reimbursement/payment requests submitted according to the submission schedule;

– planning, monitoring, control and evaluation of activities for the fulfillment of its objectives under the conditions mentioned in the financing application and the financing contract;

- updating work procedures throughout the project implementation period in order to improve them.

Result 3:

Information and publicity measures implemented:

– 2 announcements/press releases (one at the beginning and one at the end of the project) materialized through at least 4 appearances in the online/offline media;

– 21 A3 size posters placed in the project implementation locations; 1 Information board (permanent board);

- online promotion of the project on the institution's website (including a link to the website of the Structural Instruments in Romania, www.fonduri-ue.ro posted on the institution's website);

– sticker labels for the equipment settled or purchased through the project;

- the transmission of information regarding the financing of the project and the correct use of electronic equipment/devices in the didactic activity with the target group.

Result 4:

– 1 LAN network made for the implementation of the project with access points for wireless connectivity.

The financing contract was concluded with the Authority for Digitization of Romania, as Intermediate Body for the Competitiveness Operational Program on 02.08.2021.

The project takes place in the Municipality of Timișoara, Timiș County, in the period 02.08.2021-01.02.2022, according to the financing contract and has a total value of 794.041,90 lei, of which:

- the non-refundable funding from the ERDF is 674.935,62 lei;

- non-refundable funding from the national budget is 103.225,44 lei;

- the beneficiary's eligible co-financing is 15.880,84 lei.
