Literary Creation Camp for Young Writers "Petre Stoica", in Jimbolia and Timișoara

The Western University of Timișoara and the "Sever Bocu" Press Museum in Jimbolia are organizing the third edition of the "Petre Stoica" Literary Creation Camp for Young Writers. Between September 25 and 28, the camp brings 10 young writers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova to Jimbolia and Timișoara, who will work with established writers. Cultural events open to the community are also organized within the camp.

With a record number of applications, we were happy to expand the number of places for young poets, prose writers and essayists from 9 to 10. These 10 lucky residents will take part in creative writing workshops with Alexandru Potcoavă, Marcel Tolcea, Radu Pavel Gheo . In addition, they will experience the adventure of a "treasure hunt" and have the honor of meeting the Cenacle Pavel Dan at the Student Culture House. The events will take place both in Jimbolia, between September 25-27, and then on September 28, the camp will move to Timișoara.

The camp program also includes cultural events open to the community. The public is invited on Monday, September 25, from 19:00, to attend the screening of the documentary film "Timișoara. Secret Map: People and Places", in the presence of the "Secret Map" team. The event will take place at the "Petre Stoica" Memorial House in Jimbolia.

Also, on Tuesday, September 26, from 19:00 p.m., at the "Petre Stoica" Memorial House in Jimbolia, those who wish can take part in a fascinating dialogue between Cristian Tudor Popescu and Alex Condrache, entitled "What is literature good for?" ". In addition, the camp will host a demonstration tennis match supported by Cristian Tudor Popescu and Valentin Gheran. It will also take place on September 26, from 16:00 p.m., in the "Hans Wiesenmayer" gym in Jimbolia.

A special moment of the camp will be the captivating dialogue between Marcel Tolcea and Radu Pavel Gheo, under the title "Farewell, farewell, my homeland, with i from j, with j from Jimbolia", which will take place on September 27, from 19:00, at the "Petre Stoica" Memorial House in Jimbolia.

The "Cărturești" bookstore will be present with a stand for the entire three days that the camp will take place in Jimbolia.

The "Petre Stoica" literary creation camp for young writers is organized by the "Sever Bocu" Press Museum and the Western University of Timișoara. The event is part of the cultural program "At UVT, Culture is Capital!", included in the Cultural Program "Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture", Oameni territory, Reflectiņi station, financed by the Municipality of Timișoara through the Project Center, co-financed by the Timiș County Council , through the TimCultura 2023 program and Jimbolia City Hall.
