The Western University of Timișoara adapts and permanently promotes its public role, as a trainer in education and a center for strategic thinking in the community.
This direction also includes the organization of the new permanent education postgraduate study program "Digital technologies in the educational process", intended for teachers in pre-university education. This program is part of the national strategy regarding the digitization of the educational process.
The proposed program aims to train pre-university teachers on the use of tools, technologies and digital resources in the implementation of teaching, learning, assessment activities in synchronous and asynchronous mode in classical education and in mixed education (blended learning).
The proposed program capitalizes on experience, good practices, and feedback from the postgraduate study program Educational and Digital Resources for Online Training (RediOn), held with three series of trainees over a period of one and a half years, with the participation of over 180 teaching staff from 25 counties. In the new proposed program, both the curriculum and the content of the subjects were updated with the new versions of the digital technologies presented and with the good pedagogical practices acquired after two years of the educational process carried out in various contexts (face-to-face, online, mixed).
Postgraduate studies program is organized online, for the development of key/transversal and specific skills – established by the document European Framework for Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu), which specifies the specific competencies for educators from The European Framework of Digital Key Competences. The proposed education plan covers the didactic and pedagogical part necessary in the educational process that uses digital technologies, educational resources, security and ethics on the Internet and educational platforms with the possibility of deepening one of the three proposed: Classroom, Moodle and Microsoft Teams.
The teaching staff involved in running the program come from five departments of the university: Educational Sciences, Informatics, Management, Economic Informatics, Teaching Staff Improvement and have knowledge and practical experience, attested by the results obtained in research activities and through teaching-learning activities -evaluations conducted with students on the e-learning.e-uvt.ro platform, which will also be the support for the didactic activities of the proposed program.
To the graduates who pass the graduation exam, the Western University of Timișoara, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, grants them a Graduation Certificate, accompanied by the descriptive Supplement. No. ECTS credits: 10, which can be equated to min. 30 – max. 60 CPT (CCD Timiș, in 2021 was equivalent to 50 CPT).
