The series of projects, events, shows and cultural initiatives, carried out under the banner "At UVT, Culture is the Capital!", continues and expands towards a dimension of vocational-artistic education. Thus, the Western University of Timișoara, through its faculties with an artistic profile, the Faculty of Music and Theater and the Faculty of Arts and Design, confirms its role as a strategic partner for the holding of the national vocational-artistic Olympiads these days.

This year the Ministry of Education organizes the National Olympiads of Visual Arts, Architecture and Art History in Timișoara, between April 26-29, and UVT supports this endeavor through the infrastructure and expertise of the Faculty of Arts and Design. A good part of the exams, as well as the composition of the evaluation commissions, benefit from the input of UVT academic staff. Also, high school students from all over the country will be guided on documentary visits by volunteers from the Faculty of Arts and Design.

At the same time, the presidents of the music and theater olympiads are teachers of the Faculty of Music and Theater. Within the Actor's Art commission is Prof. Univ. Dr. Violeta Zonte, dean of FMT, and within the Music - Instrumental, Vocal Performance and Theoretical Studies commission is associate professor Dr. Cristina Mălăncioiu. At the request of the Ministry of Education, FMT nominated members of the Canto, Violin and Piano committee, also offering faculty spaces for this Olympiad.

Today, April 19, the stage improvisation rehearsal began, held in the Performance Hall of the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theater in Timișoara, in which students from 14 high schools, with special classes, from the country participate: Brăila, Bucharest, Buzău, Cluj -Napoca, Constanța, Focșani, Galați, Iasi, Pitesti, Sfântul Gheorghe, Târgu Jiu, Târgu Mureș, Timisoara and Tulcea.

The following tests and stages of the Olympics will be held daily, until April 29, when, from 10 o'clock, the awarding of the results will take place, organized in the Aula Magna "Ioan Curea" of UVT, which will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and those of the West University of Timișoara.
