About the exhibition "Memory [OFF] Space"

This exhibition discusses the conceptual theme of memory in relation to physical space and explores, from an aesthetic and morphological point of view, the coordinates that can be drawn between three-dimensional spaces and two-dimensional images. The "Memory [OFF] Space" exhibition will be accompanied by events open to the public, such as guided tours, artist talks, discussion circles and screenings of documentaries on the intersection of art, science and technology. The project focuses on the research and investigation of the intersection between memory, space and distance through an interdisciplinary approach and through multimedia mechanisms.

At a conceptual level, the basic coordinates of the installation are memory, space and distance, also appealing to the idea of virtual space, by indexing the space on the Google Maps platform along with its scan at the time of completion of the exhibition installation.

The team of artists opens the doors of this laboratory to the public, inviting visitors to discover and actively engage in the projects that make up the multimedia installation, as well as to take part in the debate of ideas related to contemporary artistic practices.

The creators of the exhibition hope to generate discussions and debates around the theme of memory and its interpretation through interdisciplinary artistic projects. Within the site-specific installation, the group of visual artists will interpret the proposed theme by calling on unconventional objects and materials such as needles, thread, rice grains, polystyrene, paper, sand, all of which are juxtaposed with topographical tools, video projections, recordings of sounds and stacks of artistic and documentary photocopies.
