UVT, the only Timișoara university included in the top 10, according to the national metaranking, recorded a spectacular evolution from the perspective of scientific achievements in 2023. 

Thus, it has an increase between 15% and 20% in the number of publications in Web of Science and an increase between 20% and 25% in publications in Scopus, compared to the year 2022. We refer to that type of publications and those two databases taken into account in the compilation of international rankings of university performance. 

It is also remarkable that these publications have an impact at the international level through the number of citations attracted, UVT being ranked first among the top 10 national universities, in terms of the value of the CNCI indicator. This indicator weights the number of citations attracted by an article on average, taking into account the fields of science in which it is published. 

Also, in 2023, UVT was the only Timisoara university that managed to bring top researchers from abroad, within the PNRR projects to attract highly qualified human resources, through grants totaling 4,5 million euros , projects found in the field of physics (2), respectively economic sciences.
