UVT offers the community an interdisciplinary production: "Vocal Nordic Intermezzos. Grieg, Enescu and Friends"

DAC Music Performance, a Norwegian entity led by pianist of Romanian origin Dragoș Andrei Cantea, together with the West University of Timișoara and the Creative Industries Association as partners, organizes the event "Vocal Nordic Intermezzos. Grieg, Enescu and Friends", an interdisciplinary production that will be held at the Orpheum Hall of the Faculty of Music and Theater Timisoara, Monday, May 29, 2023, from 19 p.m. Admission will be free, subject to availability.

The production includes the participation of the pianist Dragoș Cantea, the Ukrainian soprano Olena Androsiuk and the actor Dumitru Damian from Timisoara, and will include cultural parallels between Romania and Norway, as well as a tribute to the musical heritage of Ukraine. In the program of the event we will find authors such as Edvard Grieg, George Enescu, Nina Cassian, Henrik Ibsen, as well as Eduard Caudella or Tiberiu Brediceanu. The project represents the public conclusion of an artistic residency in Romania, a bilateral initiative between Romania and Norway financed by the SEE Grants 2014 – 2021 within the RO-CULTURE Program.

Note: The EEA and Norwegian grants represent the contribution of Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and Norway to a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. There are two general objectives: reducing economic and social disparities in Europe and strengthening bilateral relations between the donor states and 15 EU states in central and southern Europe and the Baltic states. The three donor states cooperate closely with the EU under the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). Between 1994 and 2014, donor states contributed €3,3 billion through consecutive grant schemes. For the period 2014-2021, the EEA and Norwegian Grants amount to €2,8 billion.
