The Western University of Timișoara participated, through the representative of the Faculty of Physics, Prof. Dr. Habil. Mihail Lungu, at the General Meeting establishing the "National School for Nuclear Energy - SNEN" Association. The event took place on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest.
The purpose of the Association sets as desirable the formation, promotion and support of education specific to the fields of activity represented by nuclear energy and/or its related fields, in order to increase the participation rate and integration on the European market of specialists in these fields of activity.
The General Assembly of the new association established the objectives and activities that SNEN intends to implement, as well as the way of work that will be approached. Also, the founding members voted unanimously and signed the Constitutive Act and the Statute of the Association.
The event was attended by representatives of the twelve founding universities and representatives of several relevant institutions, NEA-OECD, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, Societatea Națională Nuclearelectrica SA, FCN Pitesti, CNCAN, ANDR, RO POWER, RATEN, RATEN -CITON, IFIN-HH, ROMATOM. They were joined by students of the Politehnica University of Bucharest, interested in the field of energy.
