On a symbolic day for the people of Timișoara and for all Romanians, December 16, the Western University of Timișoara hosted a meeting with special significance.
The US Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency, Mr. Adrian Zuckerman, was the guest of the city of Timișoara, participating in the commemorative events dedicated to the Revolution of 1989. The agenda of the American diplomat included the invitation to participate in a meeting with the rectors of the Timișoara public universities, together with the representatives Timișoara City Hall and Timiș County Council.
The debates that took place at the Western University of Timișoara were focused on the project on the basis of which the Timișoara University Alliance (ATU) came into existence in 2020, developed through the ambition of our academic center to strengthen itself as the main "driver" of the development of the west of the country , through innovation, culture, humanistic, scientific and multicultural values.
The Timișoara University Alliance, the first structure for cooperation and consolidation of the university center and the scientific research, development and innovation platform in Timișoara, aims to contribute in a relevant way, through a joint strategy of the four public universities in our city, to becoming Timisoara as a point of reference for Central and Eastern Europe.
