This physical theater project was born from the encounter with an exceptional text: The hour when we did not know each other, created by the famous Austrian writer Peter Handke, laureate of the Nobel Prize for Literature, in 2019. The hour when we did not know each other it is a score of actions, almost a musical score with special, existential, mythical landmarks, which confront us with the challenges and dangers that lurk at every street corner, from the most mundane, to those that change our perspective on reality, to to the erotic ones, hidden not in the song of the sirens, but in their silence.
The dramaturgical concept of the physical theater show "Ora la care nu stiaam unii de altizi" starts from the identification of the analogy between our everyday, existential, artistic searches and the initiatory journey of the Odyssean type: just like in the wanderings of Ulysses, and in the wanderings of any individual , regardless of the era and the cultural space in which he lives, there is a space of his own, where he searches - consciously or not - for the Other.
In other words, if there is always someone who calls you or seduces you (recalling the danger of sirens on the troubled sea of life), then there is also the way back to a space only ours, in which we find and see the Other. This space can be a compressed one, a poetic one, one of random but often essential encounters. It can be a space of utopia, where we all meet, a space that pulls us out of isolation, precisely to look for the Other, just as it happens in our show – a syncretic show open to the community.
This theatrical project offers the students involved the opportunity to come into contact with international specialists in the field of performing arts, in the field of theater, music and choreography (Florin Vidamski, Aura Twarowska, Viktoria Medviedieva), with new working methods and will benefit from new skills in creation and presentation of a contemporary theatrical project, at European standards. Between all these cultural landmarks, performance concepts were built, their expression depending on the subjective and artistic data of the authors - the Romanian and German students of the Acting in German specialization at UVT, the Ukrainian choreographer, the director originally from Brașov, but established in Passau, local dancers and singers, musicians of various acts involved in this creation.
