The Western University of Timișoara is pleased to announce the acquisition of accreditation certificate no. 152/2024, together with order no. 20616 regarding the accreditation and granting of the entity title of the ReNITT infrastructure for "Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer" established within the Western University of Timișoara, thus strengthening the institution's commitment to the promotion of innovation and technological transfer.
This accreditation marks a significant step in strengthening UVT's role as an innovation pole in the region and strengthens the center's ability to offer top services in the fields of: Digital (Digital Economy and Space Technologies), Green (Environment and Eco-technologies), as well as well-being (Health – prevention, diagnosis and advanced treatment).
The UVT Innovation and Technology Transfer Center is now officially included in the ReNITT national network of technological infrastructures, which allows the university to participate in national and international projects, to collaborate more effectively with industries and other academic entities, and to contribute to technological transfer between the university and the private sector. The National Network for Innovation and Technological Transfer (ReNITT) includes 50 specific organizations: technology transfer centers, technology information centers, technology and business incubators, 4 science and technology parks.
CITT offers a wide range of services, which include:
- documentary research and trademark registration support,
- training and information sessions on intellectual property,
- consultancy and assistance in technology transfer,
- consultancy and assistance in concluding licensing contracts/assignment of intellectual property rights,
- consultancy and assistance for sustainable development and sustainability,
- consultancy and assistance for the submission of Horizon Europe projects,
- consultancy and assistance for the promotion of science and innovative entrepreneurship.
For each of the three accredited areas there is a series of innovative services and products that are already present in the catalog available on the center's website, a catalog that is constantly updated to include the latest results of research, development and innovation projects carried out by the university's teams and its partners.
UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "The implementation of the European strategy for the development of research networks requires universities, as research centers, to develop hubs of innovation and technology transfer. UVT assumes this transformative vision and joins the European Education and Research Area through the accreditation obtained for the new Innovation and Technological Transfer Center. CITT opens new perspectives of partnerships in the European network of research projects and integrates UVT in the space of international innovation."
