The Western University of Timișoara (UVT), through the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, consistent in its actions to promote partnerships with the business environment, organizes on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, starting at 15 p.m., the workshop "EACH Eviden – Academia Collaboration Hub". The event will take place at the headquarters of the Institute for Advanced Environmental Research - ICAM (str. Oituz, no. 4, room B222).
Eviden, the company with which UVT developed this partnership, is a member of the Atos group, a leader in the digital, cloud, big data and cyber security fields and a member of the GPS-UVT Strategic Partners Group. Eviden launched in 2023, together with the Western University of Timișoara, the master's degree program in Cybersecurity, taught in English, and is currently working on the opening of a dedicated Laboratory of Cybersecurity technologies and applications, also at UVT.
The purpose of this workshop is to intensify collaborations between the academic environment and the business environment, to identify themes and projects in the field of artificial intelligence and big data. The event will explore the possibility of consolidating European consortia aimed at developing European projects to request funding from the DIGITAL and HORIZON calls.
During the event, the following will give speeches: Cosmin Bonchiș – dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at UVT, Alexandru Rusandu – Global Head of CyberSecurity Services Portfolio & External funding at Eviden, Andrei Chipaila, CyS Deputy of Service Engineering Head & MDR RO Manager ( Obviously), Darian Onchiș – university professor in the FMI Informatics Department, Ernesto Esposito – vice-rector of the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, Pedro Real Jurado – professor at the University of Seville, Mihai Micea – director of the UPT computer department.
The Western University of Timișoara (UVT) has developed in recent years a series of study programs and projects in partnership, some carried out in cooperation with partners from the business environment or from the administration, through which it has focused on thematic areas belonging to digital technologies and online interactivity : cybersecurity, investment frauds, deepfakes, password security, social engineering, crypto, artificial intelligence or machine learning. By deepening these topics, students of UVT faculties supplement their basic knowledge and skills with the most advanced and novel information belonging to the new digital world, an open window to the jobs of the future.
