Doctor Honoris Causa Beneficiorum Publicorum

Mr. Basarab Nicolescu is one of the most visible and appreciated representatives of the Romanian diaspora; after, in 1959, he obtains the gold medal at the first International Mathematical Olympiad, and then, after the defense of his master's thesis at the University of Bucharest was seen as a real scientific event, the young Basarab Nicolescu receives a government scholarship French and remains definitively in Paris, becoming, through intelligence and tenacity, an appreciated researcher and man of culture.
