Doctor Honoris Causa SCIENTIARUM

Born on January 7, 1954, Marius-Ioan Piso attended primary school and high school in Bucharest, graduating from the Faculty of Physics in Cluj, at the Babes-Bolyai University, in 1982. His career as a scientist began the same year, at the Institute of Electrotechnical Research from Bucharest, where he was concerned with the development of inertial sensors. In 1990 he joined the Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences in Bucharest, where he later founded the Institute of Space Sciences.
