He spent a large part of his career in the USA (30 years). He served especially at the University
of Rochester (NY) and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (MI). At the University of Michigan
was the founder and director of a National Science Foundation Center of Excellence
(National Science Foundation) known as the Center for Ultrafast Optical Science
(Ultrafast Optical Science) – CUOS.
