Volunteer opportunities

The Western University of Timișoara encourages its students to get involved in volunteer activities, and their actions are permanently supported by the university. The experience gained by students through involvement in voluntary activities contributes essentially to their personal and professional development, complementing the knowledge and skills acquired through academic activity.

Several student organizations operate within the UVT, some aiming to represent the rights and interests of students, and others focusing on the personal and professional development of students in a certain field, all operating based on the principles of volunteerism. They provide the right context for students who want to get involved in such activities. More details about student organizations in UVT, as well as their list and contact details, are available HERE.

In order to stimulate students to participate in volunteering activities, the Western University of Timișoara (UVT) can formally recognize the volunteering activities carried out by them, by granting transferable study credits for carrying out this type of activities, every semester, and by mentioning them in Diploma supplement released upon graduation from university studies.

In accordance with the provisions of article 82, paragraph (2) of Charter of the West University of Timișoara, UVT students can receive transferable credits for volunteering activities every semester, the conditions of students' participation in these activities and the method of granting credits being established by Regulation on the granting of credits for volunteering

Thus, the discipline Volunteering appears as optional in the curricula of all undergraduate and master's degree programs of UVT.

In order for the volunteer activity carried out by students to be formally recognized at the university level, it must be carried out either within the departments, faculties or for the benefit of UVT, or within an NGO included in The UVT repertoire of NGOs, and have a duration of at least 60 hours during a semester. Student representation activity will also be recognized as volunteer activity.

Each student can receive 2 transferable study credits in each study semester of the bachelor's and master's university study cycles for carrying out volunteering activities.

In order to grant credits related to volunteering, students must present in the exam session a portfolio made up of several justified documents (activity report, evaluation of volunteering, etc.), which can be found in the appendices Regulation on the granting of credits for volunteer activity (Annex 2 – Volunteer activity report; Annex 3 – Volunteer activity evaluation report)

Submission of portfolios for granting loans for volunteering activities carried out during the first semester of the academic year 2023-2024 can be achieved, according to article 9 of Regulation on granting credits for volunteer activity, until the 04. 02.2024, to be evaluated in AI session, respectively until the date of 21. 02.2024, to be evaluated in BI session.

Portfolios will be submitted electronically, via TO THIS FORM.
