The four Timisoara universities will present their educational offer, within a unique event, the Educational Fair for Students "ATU for your education". The action is part of the series of activities carried out in cooperation, to promote the educational offer for the academic year 2023-2024 for high school students from Timiș County and from the Western region of Romania, carried out by the Timișoara University Alliance (ATU).
The educational fair for students "ATU for your education" will take place between April 21-22, 2023, at the Timișoara Hotel (Str. Mărășești no. 1-3) within the Convention Center, and will bring together the study programs of the four universities public schools in Timișoara and meets the students' desire to be informed and advised in choosing their future training course
The educational fair can be visited on Friday, 21.04.2023, between 09:00-16:00, respectively Saturday, 22.04.2023, between 10:00-13:00.
The Western University of Timișoara, the "Victor Babeș" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara, the Politehnica University of Timișoara and the "King Mihai I" University of Life Sciences in Timișoara are waiting for students, parents and teaching staff to present their university study programs on who organize them and the opportunities they offer to students.
At a time when all universities present their offers, when educational fairs are organized in all major cities, students in their final years of high school are faced with dilemmas: Which university should I choose? Which city is more suitable for students? What specialization can give me a successful career?
In order to support high school students, the Politehnica University of Timișoara, which is launching its admission campaign within the Educational Fair "Timișoara - ATU for your education", which starts on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., at the Timișoara Convention Center (Hotel Timisoara), comes with a series of arguments.
Preparation courses have already been started for high school students, in architecture, mathematics and chemistry, useful both for the preparation of the baccalaureate and for admission to college, and those who follow them are not required to make any commitment to attend a college in the UPT framework.
The situation of the sports infrastructure in Timișoara is at one of the lowest levels in recent years. Unfortunately, the future prospects are not too good either.
Vice Mayor Cosmin Tabără announced that adjustments will be made to the Constantin Jude Hall, the only decent location where indoor sports events can be hosted, adjustments to meet a minimum criterion for hosting spectators, the Fire Authorization. Otherwise, both halls that could have offered a better perspective for such locations, have no definite future. It is about the hall built by the Politehnica University of Timișoara, a project from which the town hall disappeared, respectively the multipurpose hall, which is buried in documents in Bucharest.
"Connected to the Podeanu-ea UPT sports hall. The town hall, not by my decision, came out 2 years ago, don't ask me why, no one asked me. With the exception of me, no one has gone to Bucharest for Polivalentă. The pre-feasibility is ready, passed by the CTE commission (no Technical-Economic Commission) CNI (no National Investment Company), was in the CTE at the Ministry of Development. They gave us to solve a few aspects, everything related to the Sports Base Service, in my responsibility it has been ready for some time, we were waiting for the traffic study to get the approval and move to SF. I hope the prioritization of this aspect is understood", Camp announced.
Documentor launches a promotional campaign in Timișoara for the establishment of a regional film center. West Romania Film Center will be created according to the model and experience of Viken Filmsenter in Norway.
The project has two levels: the first is the creation of a Regional Film Fund, an alternative to the National Cinematography Center in Bucharest, the second, with the role of lobbying, attracting film producers and facilitating all the conditions for them to he wants to film in Banat and in the Western area.
"Movies pump a lot of money into the local economy and promote the region for free. Now, all the big film producers who come to Romania are oriented around Bucharest. The regional film commission will have to convince Romanian and foreign film producers to come and make feature films, TV series, clips or documentaries in the western region of Romania. From our point of view, it has some assets to play with. We discuss architecture, post-industrial area, sets, there are many actors, we are also very close to Hungary - which is one of the big players in the international film production market. Many productions are made for them. The advantage is that equipment can be brought very quickly from Hungary, it is easier to bring from there than from Bucharest, the distance and the infrastructure is better towards Budapest. It's the Hunedoara castle, interesting cities, Timișoara, Arad, Reșita, Oradea. It depends on the subject of the film, but it is very versatile", says director Florin Iepan, director of the Documentor Association.
Bringing film crews that, most of the time, means more than a hundred people staying in the city for several months would mean considerable income for the companies that offer services in the area, it would also bring a benefit to the local creative industry, a plus for tourism and would contribute to the promotion of the city and the region.

"The recipe for economic growth is to increase productivity, and to increase productivity we need to invest in research, development and innovation. We are happy that this year the research budget has increased by 70% compared to last year's budget, but it is very important that these funds are directed to research with transfer to the real economy. This is the purpose of this Science and Technology Park, this is the purpose of the future smart specialization parks that will be financed from European funds and this is the direction we have as the Government of Romania, to support research that transfers to the real economy", said Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization.
The re-introduction of pedagogical education lasting 5 years is proposed by the Social Democratic Party (PSD), according to the submitted amendments. If in the draft of the Pre-University Education Law the duration is 5 years, PSD also proposes a duration of 5 years, according to the document consulted by Edupedu.ro.
Art. 52. - "(1) Pedagogical education is organized as vocational high school education, with a duration of four, respectively five years, for students with skills in this field.", states the proposal from PSD.
"What I would say must be conveyed to young people: do something yourself, see what interests you. And I think that parents worry too much about the success of their children", believes Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Laureate, about the current trends in education. Parents and, later, school and university "should teach children to do things themselves, to take the initiative," and when they become students "to learn to think for themselves," he says in an interview Edupedu.ro.
"What happened to me when I was a student: the teacher gave us lectures, but then I went to read books about what was presented. Because a teacher talks for an hour or so, but the information is much more extensive. So you have to take the initiative, not wait for information to be delivered to you. And this is all the more important now, when we have these machines", comments Jean-Marie Lehn in the interview, pointing to the mobile phone.

Also known as the "Chips Act", the new legislation paves the way for a whole package of subsidies at European level to relocate production to Europe. These subsidies would amount to 43 billion euros.
With this, the EU aims to cover around 20% of the global value chain of semiconductors by 2030, while currently its share is only 9%, according to Politico.
European legislation is based on three pillars. The first consists of strong support for research and development and innovation in the field of advanced chips.
A second provides for the support of production, in a global environment where competition is fierce.
Finally, the third pillar consists of a crisis response mechanism, including joint procurement for member states. A lesson well learned by the Europeans during the pandemic when they bought large quantities of vaccines. And then continued, in the energy crisis this winter or now, with ammunition for Ukraine.
Company culture is increasingly important to employees. This can be a decisive factor for those who are thinking of giving up their current job, writes CNBC.
A survey conducted by LinkedIn showed that the vast majority, 87%, of Gen Z professionals would be prepared to give up their job to work elsewhere if the values of the new company were more closely aligned with their personal ones.
LinkedIn defines Generation Z as those born between 1997 and 2012, who are currently in their late teens or early adulthood.
"Younger generations, in particular, want to work for companies where they can evoke change and make a difference," said Josh Graff, managing director for EMEA and LATAM at LinkedIn.
The survey, which is based on 7.317 respondents from the UK, France, Germany and Ireland, also found that 59% of European professionals would not work for a company if its values did not align with their own. For 55% of those surveyed, a salary increase would not be enough to convince them to stay.
