Are the universities in Timișoara prepared for the profile of the current student?
renastearea.ro

Student life is one of the most beautiful and interesting stages in the process of forming a young adult.

With the vigor of youth, with challenges, with fun and inherent responsibilities, students intensely live this period during which they weld their set of skills necessary in their professional path, but also at the individual level.

Being a student in a city like Timișoara, which has many opportunities in career development, but also in social life, is obviously an advantage. Compared to what was 20-30 years ago, the perspectives are different, because the societal context is also different.

The profile of today's student is no longer the same as at the beginning of post-December Romania. Now, a good part of those who continue their training in higher education work, part-time or full-time, participate in mobility programs (such as, for example, Erasmus), are involved in exchanges of experience along the educational line, exchange more often career options.

Being a student, today, is no longer synonymous with being young, financially supported by parents. We are witnessing accelerated dynamics on the labor market, therefore, the reconfiguration of the professional path can take place at any moment of life. Not a few are those who, at the age of adulthood, choose to follow a form of higher education for the first, second or even third time, including various master's programs.

However, not all faculties in Timișoara have managed to update their educational policies. Despite the multiple training programs developed in universities, which include transversal skills, remedial courses, framework plans in accordance with employers' requirements, alternative teaching methods, the possibility to participate in classes held in other faculties, internships, accessibility to programs in the educational offer is still a critical point of higher education in Timișoara.

The European Film Festival debuts in Timișoara tomorrow, May 9, on Europe Day itself, with a special Gala. The festival takes place between May 9-12, at Cinema Victoria.

"On May 9, we say Happy Birthday to Europe, in its cultural capital, Timișoara, launching the European Film Festival. Here, on the banks of the Begă, we are truly under the sign of dialogue, in a city that has been building the diversity and effervescence specific to the European Union for hundreds of years, since the time when the project of unifying the continent did not even exist as an aspiration. European multiculturalism is best illustrated through European cinema, colorful, sometimes irreverent, sometimes temperamental, often serious, but always relevant. Just like your city. For the Gala evening, we propose a brave and challenging film, with an impressive cast, at which I hope to see as many as possible", said Liviu Jicman, President of the Romanian Cultural Institute.

The film that will inaugurate the Timisoara edition of FFE on May 9, at the Victoria Cinema, from 19:00 p.m., is With everything with bones / bones and all by the Italian director Luca Guadagnino, rewarded with two important prizes at the Venice Film Festival last year: the Silver Lion for the best director and the acting prize for the young Taylor Russell. The cast also includes superstars Timothée Chalamet, Mark Rylance, Chloë Sevigny and Jessica Harper.

Cyber attack on the Ministry of Education
hotnews.ro
The website of the Ministry of Education was attacked by hackers.

The site was hacked during the night, displaying the following message:

  • "The Romanian education system is a very bad one, which teaches you absolutely nothing useful, but only indoctrinates you with useless information. Who can we blame? The teachers?
  • No way, they are dumber than the students. The fact that they agree to work for a salary of ***, in an even more ** environment shows their level of intelligence, which is not very high.
  • Dear students, stop worrying about school, it's a waste of time. What school teaches you in 10 years you can learn for free, on YouTube. The government made you think that if you don't have a higher education you are stupid and you will have low wages, but you are even stupider for believing and listening to them."

The Special Telecommunications Service, which administers the edu.ro platform, now displays a maintenance message.

The Ministry of Education sent, hours after the cyber attack, that the institution's IT administrators are analyzing the cyber incident that led to the blocking of the www.edu.gov.ro website

  • "IT specialists are working to strengthen the site's infrastructure and get it back up and running as soon as possible. Evaluation, isolation and remediation operations of possible vulnerabilities are carried out. Until the security auditing actions are completed, the site will remain in offline mode.
  • We specify that the website www.edu.gov.ro contains only public data and citizens' information, confidential data not being compromised.
  • The priority of our institution is the quick resolution of the incident to ensure that edu.ro no longer presents cyber security risks and can be used again without risk", says the Ministry of Education.
