Research

One of the general objectives of the UNITA alliance of European universities is the reduction of inequalities between central and peripheral regions through the sustainable development of rural and mountain areas. It is connected to the alliance's efforts regarding research, innovation and partnerships with local and regional ecosystems. Between the initiation and development phase of the alliance and the expansion and consolidation phase, the priority areas for Research in UNITA evolved as follows:

If the first phase was dedicated to development UNITA Research&Innovation Hubs in these areas, the mapping of research interests in relation to them and their first actions (the development of complementary projects, the creation of micro-certifications, the organization of some thematic schools, the organization of the institutional framework and the financing of doctorates under UNITA co-supervision, etc.), the second one is intended consolidation of UNITA R&I Hubs that already exist and the development of new ones, respectively of strategic partnerships with local and regional ecosystems.

Between the initiation and development phase of the alliance and the expansion and consolidation phase, the priority areas for Research in UNITA evolved as follows:
