The increased market demand exacerbated by the Covid19 pandemic determined the application service providers to invest in platforms that allow software to be deployed and run on the Cloud, e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud. Although the usage of Cloud already reduces the carbon footprint compared to local servers, manual deployment of software could lead to the utilization of extraneous resources. To tackle this issue, automatic deployment is proposed. This is a non-trivial task due to the complexity of the software and to the various Cloud offers. We formalize it as a constrained optimization problem and use mathematical methods (computational logic, graph theory, symmetry breaking) to solve it efficiently.
