The West University of Timișoara invites you on Thursday, October 20, at 18:00, to the first "Connect to the Future" event, a series of interactive conferences dedicated to the popularization of science. 

The guest of the conference will be university professor Dragoș Iliescu, who proposes a special theme: The sciences of human behavior - psychology and cognitive sciences - and their contribution to the good in humanity.

The subject of the conference draws our attention to human nature, the challenges it faces and the contribution it can make to society.

Dragoș Iliescu is a university professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Bucharest and Extraordinary Professor at the University of Stellenbosch.

The event will take place in the Aula Magna "Ioan Curea" and will be moderated by Delia Vîrgă.

About the conference, the rector of the West University of Timișoara, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, said: The popularization of science is a priority for the Western University of Timișoara. That's why we want to bring to the public as many leading specialists as possible. The theme of the first conference is psychology and cognitive sciences, a topic of maximum interest for those who want to better understand human nature.

The Conectati la Viitor project involves the UVT faculties that study the exact sciences: physics, chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics, informatics and aims to popularize science by means of an interactive dialogue between a moderator, the public and a specialist from within the faculties or a guest recognized by the scientific community.

This series is part of the Cultural Program "Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture", the Oameni territory, the Reflectiţi station, is financed by the Municipality of Timișoara through the Project Center, co-financed by the Timiș County Council.
