EUROSFAT, the largest European business forum in Romania, arrives this year for the first time in Timișoara, on October 13-14, 2023, at the West University of Timișoara.
EUROSFAT Forum is a landmark event dedicated to facilitating constructive dialogue on key European issues, bringing together high-level officials from European Parliament, The European Commission, European Council, as well as Council of Europe for a constructive debate with representatives of Romanian civil society, experts, academics and citizens. Each year, the forum is also privileged to receive the patronage of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU.
The forum has become, year after year, a model of success in connecting Romanian citizens with the European agenda, being a platform for debates between European, national and local decision-makers, representatives of civil society, journalists, representatives of the business environment and the academic environment. Europuls – Center for European Expertise considers European integration an essential mission, proposing every year to innovate the way it brings the European agenda to Romania and actively addressing Euroscepticism.
In this event, for the first time since he took over the leadership European Labor Agency, diplomat Cosmin Boiangiu will be present in Romania for a debate on the future of work. Also, journalists from Ukraine will conduct workshops to combat disinformation with students from Timisoara within the EUROSFAT Forum. In addition to these, there will also be dialogues with Romanian MEPs, through which the participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the aid provided by the EU to Ukraine, about the ongoing sanctions against Russia, as well as about how Romania could play a role in reconstruction of Ukraine. Students' challenges in this European Year of Skills will also be addressed, with participants having the opportunity to develop their skills through a negotiation simulation.
Timișoara is the first city to turn the local dimension of the EUROSFAT Forum into reality. In the introduction of the Forum, we will emphasize the importance of promoting European values in the face of the wave of Euroscepticism that is crossing the entire European continent and which in Romania is increasingly a danger.
