The UVT Liberty Marathon started as a manifesto of the choices that make us different, that make us unique, free. It is a competition addressed to experienced runners, but also to young people or children who have their first experience of running a marathon.

This year, we are delighted to announce that runners who complete a race in the 2020 UVT Liberty Marathon (from 2km to 42km) will be rewarded with a medal signed by Camelia Potec, Olympic swimming champion (gold medal in swimming at the Olympic Games in Athens, in the 200 meter freestyle) and president of the Romanian Swimming and Modern Pentathlon Federation.

The rector of the Western University of Timișoara, prof. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, emphasizes the symbolic value of this inscription on the 2020 marathon medal: "Camelia Potec is an exemplary athlete, an Olympian in a high-speed swimming race, but also a well-known "marathonist" of ambition, talent and overflowing energy. The trusted signature of Camelia Potec, inscribed on the medal of this edition of Liberty Marathon 2020, will attract and inspire participants, for a memorable running race".

The medal signed by Camelia Potec will be given to the participants who complete the race they signed up for, as part of the participation kit. The kit will include, along with the medal:

• the Liberty 2020 technical shirt,
• participant diploma,
• a mask, not to forget that we are #Liberty even in a time like this,
• as well as four products from our trusted partner, dm drogerie markt Romania.

We specify how to remit the Kits, which will be sent by courier to the mailing address provided upon registration, with dispatch taking place within a maximum of 2 weeks from the date of race validation.

At the end of the period dedicated to the competition, the prizes offered by the partners of the event will be awarded to those who will be selected by drawing lots, among the participants who have completed the trial for which they have registered. The prizes consist of Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, Huawei P40 5G phones, Apple Ipad 7 10.2 inch 32GB tablets, respectively HAMA Connect 184020, Bluetooth headphones.
