Alexandru Ticula, student of the Faculty of Music and Theater of UVT, managed to achieve a beautiful performance in the prestigious "Alexandru Fărcaș Voice Competition", which held its national edition in Cluj-Napoca, between March 22-24 2024. Coordinated by Mrs. conf. Dr. Mariana Șarba, Alexandru Ticula is the winner of the "Michaela Bocu" Award for the best interpretation of a Romanian lied.
This national edition of the competition was addressed to students and master's students enrolled in higher musical education, aged between 18 and 28 years old, completed by March 22, 2024. Participation in the competition required enrollment in a repertoire including an opera area / operetta from the Romanian or universal repertoire (recorded) for the first stage (eliminatory) and two opera arias / operetta from the Romanian or universal repertoire (other than the one presented in the first stage) and a Romanian lied, for the second live stage. The competition repertoire is at the contestant's choice.
In the national edition of the "Alexandru Fărcaș Voice Competition", held in collaboration with the "Gheorghe Dima" Cluj-Napoca National Academy of Music, fifteen students and master's students from the music faculties of Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest, Iași were awarded and Timisoara (FMT – UVT). The judging panel of the Cluj-Napoca contest includes significant personalities of the artistic scene and qualified partners who support the artistic performance, raising the standard of the competition at the international level.
UVT rector, Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "The national performance scene grows year by year through national singing competitions, in which students of the most important higher music schools from the country's major university cities participate, such as the prestigious singing competition "Alexandru Fărcaș Voice Competition". Mariana Șarba, for the meritorious result obtained in this year's edition, which anticipates a beautiful career on the national and international singing scene, for the young artist trained in Timisoara."
