The academic community of UVT appreciates that solidarity with the extreme dangers that the inhabitants of Ukraine are going through these days is a humanitarian and essential gesture, in the spirit of democracy and the values of the free world.

In addition, as we announced in the last few days, we are involved in supporting refugees who need support by:

  • The mobilization of legal resources, given to the activity of non-profit organizations involved in providing assistance to people affected by the war in Ukraine, through the Legal Clinic for Civil Society (CJSC) attached to the Faculty of Law;
  • Management of donations in the form of products, grouped within the collection point for donations in the form of products, then directed to non-governmental organizations that work directly with refugees from Ukraine, partner organizations of the Department of Social Assistance of the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology from UVT.

The rector of UVT, university professor Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea: "The academic community of UVT stands in solidarity with refugees and finds it useful to get involved to provide specialized assistance to people in difficult situations created by the pressure of the conflict in the Ukrainian space. We mobilize and provide psychological counseling for Ukrainian citizens refugees in Romania due to the war, a humanitarian intervention that we consider important in this context of crisis. "
